About Medical Training tools: Mart Mulders founded Medical Training Tools in 2014. After almost two decades in the medical field, including first-hand experience in assisting anaesthesiologists and as a trainer of medical devices, Mart knows how vital proper training is for healthcare professionals. Training increases the speed and dexterity with which procedures are performed and minimizes the errors that lead to complications.  Particularly with today’s emphasis on transparency, low complication rates are critical for success.

Determining two areas as a springboard to improving training processes, Medical Training Tools has developed

• a dedicated case with an integrated training platform (the TD-Box) and
• a professionally designed silicone organ model, perfect for dry-lab modules.

The professional training case is easily transportable and designed to conveniently house the necessary equipment.  The pièce de résistance is an integrated training platform tray that is equally suited for animal or synthetic training models.

A silicone upper GI model is a key element of the Medical Training Tools kit. Animal models are essential for advanced training. However, purpose-designed manufactured silicone models are also required. Many people have religious or ethical objections to using animal organs. In addition, particularly in the early stages of training, it isn’t always necessary to use animal models. Trainers also avoid the substantial, unpleasant and time-critical tasks of cleaning and preparing animal tissues. Moreover, since there is no risk of contamination from animal organs, with synthetic training models it is possible to practice using the same equipment as in the clinic or surgical theatre.

MTT targeted the need for improvement to available manufactured training models: these were either unaffordable and poorly equipped or limited to simulation only.  Homemade creations used in the past were functional but lacked the professional appearance you would expect as medical professionals. Our model addresses these issues and can be used for suturing, stenting and other commonly used surgical techniques.

With the TD-Box at the durable, sturdy core, Medical Training tools aims to develop equipment specifically designed to advance and streamline training processes, thereby supporting trainers and facilitating the training process.
