A successful Endoloop (Polyloop Olympus, Japan) training using MTT’s Upper-GI model took place during a routine safety-training session for nurses in Vlietland Hospital, Schiedam, the Netherlands.
An endoloop is used for more challenging polyps, those which are awkwardly placed or have a thick stalk (>20 mm). The nurses learned, among other things, to be alert for possible complications and risks—for instance, immediate and delayed bleeding, colonic perforation and Postpolypectomy syndrome—and how they can be addressed.
The use of MTT’s transparent upper-GI model enabled the nurses to simultaneously view the details of the procedure.
